Constantius I, as Caesar, 293-305. Argenteus (Silver, 18 mm, 3.41 g, 12 h), Alexandria, circa 295-296. CONSTAN-TIVS CAES Laureate head of Constantius I to right. Rev. VIRTVS MILITAM (sic!) / ALE Campgate with three turrets and no doors; in field to right, B. Gautier 35.a (this coin, illustrated on pl. 78). RIC -. RSC -. Extremely rare, apparently the third known example with this interesting spelling error on the reverse. Lightly toned and lustrous. The reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, good extremely fine.
